I joined Equinox on February 8, 2009 with two goals in mind.
- Get into shape.
- Get my Dad's money back.
When I joined they were having two promotions.
- If I sign up before the end of that weekend I get the rest of February for free.
- If I sign up before the end of the next week and I workout 36 times in 90 days I get my initiation fee (the fee you pay to join the gym) back; which my Dad thoughtfully paid.
Here is my progress so far:
I have an odd ankle condition. To put it gently and in layman's terms, I can't
do anything that puts pressure on it. This includes running, wearing heels etc.
Because of this, I am limited to the elliptical and bike.
For the past three weeks, I have been doing Studio Cycling two time
a week and Cycletherapy on Saturdays. They are amazing classes and I
cannot even think about working out by myself and pushing myself as hard
as I do in these classes. After three weeks, I am free of aches and pains and
feeling so much better about myself. You can see the definition in my legs
and I have lost weight and replaced it with muscle.
I am so glad I am working out again. I really do enjoy it and look forward to it
throughout the day.
- I have worked out 29 times in 55 days.
- Only seven more days to go to get to my 36!
My coworker told me about this class at Zone Hampton which is located in the
Hampton's, Upper East Side and Soho in Manhattan. The bikes allows you to
move from side to side like a normal bike. I think I will try it out someday.
Seems like fun.
