This weekend, after a lovely brunch with my girlfriend at Friend of a Farmer,
We headed out to Brooklyn. Yes, you heard me. I believe I have mentioned trips to Brooklyn more frequently lately. We went to the Renegade Craft Fair at McCarren Park in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
I have heard about McCarren Park a lot and have always wanted to go. It is a very easy commute from The City as well. You take the "L" Train to the first stop, Bedford Avenue, and walk NE on Bedford Ave. five blocks and it basically dead ends at McCarren Park. There is so much to tell about McCarren Park so I will leave that for another post.
The Renegade Craft Fair was great. The weather was perfect and the crafts were very cool. I even treated myself to a vanilla ice cream cone and a tan. I ended up getting a few things which I have posted below.
The first thing I purchased was a print from Virginia. There is an image of it below. I loved the Tim Burton-esque of the drawing. Every time I look at it I find something new I didn't notice before. I have it in my kitchen over my stove so every time you walk into my apartment it is the first thing you see.
I got Neal a shirt from Secret Lovers. Originally I showed him a shirt that says beards not bombs but he saw the What Would Tim Waits Do? and decided that one was cooler. The actual T-Shirt is from American Apparel which means it is super soft! I almost wore it to bed the other night.
There were so many cool shops there. One I really liked was Up In The Air Somewhere. They had some hand made ceramic pieces but what I really loved were the paper bowls and vases. They are water resistant too. However, my budget didn't allow me to treat myself to one of these.
