Tulsa Time Part III: Stonehorse Cafe & Mom's Birthday

On Tuesday, my last day in Tulsa, we celebrated my Mom's birthday. So of course we had to go to my parents favorite restaurant in Tulsa, Stonehorse Cafe.

I am so glad I got to spend it with you! I love you!

Dad and I snuck out of the house when Mom went to get cleaned up for dinner to surprise her with flowers and cards. And she thought we hadn't got her anything!

Two cards from Dad.

The card on the left was from Oliver and the card on the right was from me!

Didn't we do a fabulous job!

Stonehorse Cafe is possibly is the best restaurant in Tulsa and would totally make it in New York City.
Stonehorse Cafe is located in Utica Square.

We had an early dinner reservation as we had to wake up at 5:30am to get me to the airport on time! Our friend, Kaitlin, was our server and she did a fabulous job! We ordered two salads to start. Mom had the Caesar and I had the Bleu Salad. The Caesar is very similar to Dalesandro's with almost a balsamic dressing. The Bleu Salad is one of the best salads I've ever had. The combination of the bleu cheese, blueberries and walnuts was fantastic. It was so delicious. Although I was a good girl and shared.

For entrees we all mmmmed and ahhhhhed. Mom had the Andouille Sausage with Gnocchi in this amazing flavorful spicy sauce with bits of corn. All of us kept stealing bites. Luckily she was a good sport.
Dad had the Truck Stop, or something to that extent, Meatloaf which was displayed on a bed of mashed potatoes and peas. I had Tim's Dish of the Day which was the Beef Stroganoff with Gnocchi. It was delicious but it could have used a little more flavor, especially after tasting my Mom's which was full of pizazz!

Of course we had to have dessert to celebrate Mom's birthday. Kaitlin tried to talk us into one but of course we had to have two. Even though the bowl of Bread Pudding could have fed the entire restaurant. What can I say, we love food.  So, we had the Bread Pudding and the Blueberry Cobbler. I must say, the Blueberry Cobbler was by far my absolute favorite. If you had read my now three Tulsa posts, you can see the mention of Bread Pudding three times. Well, all three Bread Puddings were very yummy but as I have mentioned before, Dalesandro's is by far the best I have had in my life.  But, the Stonehorse Cafe's Blueberry Cobber tasted like crystalized blueberry muffins with a crispy crust topped with vanilla ice cream. Yep, that about explains the yummy goodness.

Unfortunately, Stonehorse Cafe does not have a website. In fact, I can't find a single thing on Stonehorse Cafe that isn't a diners review. The only image of their dishes I could find is this one below. To tell you the truth, I am not even sure what it is. I am shocked and bummed. I really wish I could show you the amazing dishes we dined on. They were absolutely fabulous.

Stonehorse also has a Market next door to the restaurant. Here are some images of inside the Market to give you an idea of what they sell. Obviously I don't live there anymore and have no reason to go but, I've heard great things!

Until next time, Tulsa....
