A Library and or Office is not something I typically think I need when I think about my future home. This is probably because I live in a studio apartment on a fifth floor walk up and would be ecstatic just to have one Bedroom and an elevator.
Although I have a sofa and a small French marble top table, I am apparently magnified to my bed. I use it to sleep, watch TV and movies, read, write, blog, edit photos, and sometimes even eat. Is this multipurpose bed a cause from laziness or just lack of space? I don't know, but I have decided I need to start using it for it's one and only soul purpose, sleeping.
Lately I have been thinking about having more space and what I would do with it. My small collection of books has grown quite immensely these past few years and one day I would love to have a fantastic place to keep them. Hints Library and or Office. I love ready, writing, blogging, editing photos and those are all things that could should and would be done more properly in a Library and or Office, if one existed.
Since I have been day dreaming about this non existent Library and or Office, what better than blogging about it. Of course it would have to have fabulous bookcases, some antique pieces here and there and a wonderful large desk with a just as fabulous chair to match. If I would like to day dream a little more, I would also include floor to ceiling windows and some great lighting!
In the mean time, all I can do is show you what it would probably look like.
I pretty much love everything about this space. I'll take it. Where do I sign?
Ditto from above.
The concept from this image that I love so much is the color scheme. Although the purpose of a Library is to work, I love the dark cozy feeling. It makes me want to curl up on a large chair and read a classic with a cup of hot cocoa. However, I would need some amazing windows for natural light.
As you can see in the image from above and the image below, the wood beam ceiling is something I love.
Glass and metal floor to ceiling windows and doors is an obvious love of mine.
A perfect NYC office.
