The Nolitan

My first weekend back in NYC after my summer travels, my friends sister asked me if I had eaten at the new restaurant in my hood. It's in the new hotel on Kenmare Chelsea told me. I looked at her confused and said, "I didn't even know there was a new hotel on Kenmare!" Shows just how much I pay attention these days. I believe it's the lack of my actually being in NYC this summer. Hey it's a good enough excuse for me!

So, I went and checked out this new hotel and WOW, is it awesome! I have actually seen this hotel before without actually knowing it was a hotel. Yet again, like the Crosby Street Hotel, I was hoping it was a new apartment building as I would have loved to live there. I should have known. Another lost cause.

I was sad to find out it was a hotel until I realized how awesome it was to have such a cool hotel so close. Now, my parents would have an awesome new spot to stay when they come to visit me. I called them immediately to break the news about their new getaway. And, guess what!?! They just made their reservations at the The Nolitan New York for Thanksgiving! I'm so excited to celebrate Thanksgiving in NYC this year! It's about time they come back for a visit! Let's not tip them off that I might be sleeping on their sofa, better yet, did you see that awesome bathtub?

Last Friday, Jen and I had a lovely afternoon. We hit up the Apple store to hook Jen up with a brand spankin new iPad 2, followed by a screening of Midnight in Paris and dinner at Ellabess, the restaurant in The Nolitan. It was delicious. The portions were small, which is probably the correct portion size, but they were flavorful and delish. I'll definitely be back, especially since it's so close! It is wonderful to have such amazing restaurants opening up in my neighborhood. NoLita is booming!

I can't wait for my parents to come and stay in this amazing hotel! I hope it is as wonderful on the inside as it is on the out!

  1. I know you said your parents already booked the Nolitan but if they didn't prepay, Jetsetter just posted a 5-day flash sale for the hotel. Rooms from $190/night in November instead of from $305/night.
