Halloween weekend was a whirlwind of craziness! Literally! The weather was all over the map. Between the wind, rain and snow (YES SNOW), it was hard to get motivated to do anything but lay in bed drinking hot chocolate, eating oreo cheesecake and watching re-runs with my best friends.
Luckily, on Friday night, for the big Hulaween party, the nasty snow storm hadn't embarked on this amazing city. It was quite cold, but it was dry and that was all we were asking for. I left work early to welcome Kylie to NYC.
After a delicious lunch at Grey Dog, we stopped by my local salon, Mud Honey, to see if finger waves were part of their vocabulary. We were in luck. An hour later, Kylie looked like she had just stepped out of Gone with the Wind onto the overwhelming streets of New York City.
My favorite part of the entire evening was the decorations, and Stevie Wonder performing, but back to the decorations. They were unbelievable! The Waldorf Astoria ballroom was literally transformed into a haunting and magical space. The table decorations were over the top extraordinary!
My costume for the evening was selected due to the Prohibition themed and required Halloween party I was attending Saturday night. Two nights in a row wouldn't hurt. Plus, how often am I a blonde? I figure I would pull it off as long as I could. I even had my first blonde moment! Jennifer was a Hawaiian princess.
Kylie was also a flapper as she was also attending the Saturday night festivities.
Check out the amazing desserts!
...and table decorations.
Dancing to Stevie Wonder with our new friends, the Mad Hatter and White Rabbit.
Michael Kors, I promise it's him, announcing the costume contest winners.
We ate, drank and danced the night away. The costumes and decorations were simply unbelievable. The night was magical and a blast! It was a great way to kick off our Halloween weekend!
