Son, brother, friend, world traveller, writer, sports fan, music lover. Born 

Jan. 17, 1976, in Woodstock, N.B. Died Sept. 25, 2008, in Berlin after his 

bicycle was hit by a vehicle, aged 32.

Through the years, Vince Chew updated family and friends in a regular e-

mail newsletter called The VC, complete with tales of his adventures around 

the world, insights on life, photos with celebrities, even reader mail. 

Despite the distance, his stories made you feel you were right there with him.

Vince grew up in Rothesay, N.B., and Bedford, N.S., with his parents, 

Ken and Rosalind, and older sister, Joyce. He attended Dalhousie Law School, 

graduating in 2001.
